Z-Flex Truck Set | Raw
Classic Z-Flex trucks in raw polished aluminium, in four sizes.
The Z-Flex Truck Set is a pair of Z-Flex's standard skate trucks in a raw, rough polished finish. They come in four sizes, 5", 5.25", 5.5" and 6.25", so you can match them to anything from a narrow cruiser to a wide pool deck. They're a good pick for replacing or upgrading the trucks on a cruiser or old-school board.
Each truck has a 6-hole baseplate, which lets you bolt it on with either the old-school or new-school hole pattern, so it fits older and newer decks. Soft 90A cushions make the turn easy and surfy, the same feel Z-Flex builds into its cruisers. The 5" size is what Z-Flex runs on its 27" and 29" cruisers and 8.0" completes, and the 6.25" goes on its wide 9.5" to 9.75" decks.

What Size Board Does It Fit?
Z-Flex sizes these trucks by hanger width and doesn't publish axle widths, so the board widths below are a general guide. Pick the size that puts your wheels roughly in line with the edge of your deck. Z-Flex runs the 5" on its 27" and 29" cruisers and 8.0" street completes, and the 6.25" on its 9.5" and 9.75" decks.
| Truck size | Hanger width | Typical board width (guide) |
|---|---|---|
| 5" | 5.0" | 7.5"–8.0" |
| 5.25" | 5.25" | 8.0"–8.25" |
| 5.5" | 5.5" | 8.25"–8.75" |
| 6.25" | 6.25" | 9.25"–9.75" |
As a general rule, go narrower for quick, nimble turning or wider for stability.
About Z-Flex
Z-Flex is one of skateboarding's original brands. It was started in 1976 by Kent Sherwood, Jay Adams's stepfather, a fibreglass craftsman who had been building boards for the Zephyr team in Dogtown, the Santa Monica and Venice Beach stretch of the California coast. When Sherwood split from Zephyr he took Jay Adams and a handful of Z-Boys with him under the name EZ-Ryder, and within six months the brand became Z-Flex.
Z-Flex lays claim to the first skateboard with a concave top and to a smoother-riding wheel that helped shape the soft wheels most riders use today. Its current range still draws straight from that history: the P.O.P, Ruins to Roses, Banana Train, Surf-a-gogo and Aragon Cheetah series all take their stories from Pacific Ocean Park and the Dogtown scene. Riders choose Z-Flex for easy-riding cruisers, longboards and surfskates with real heritage, set up to be fun from the first push.
FAQs
What size board do the Z-Flex trucks fit?
As a general guide, the 5" suits about 7.5" to 8.0" decks, the 5.25" about 8.0" to 8.25", the 5.5" about 8.25" to 8.75", and the 6.25" about 9.25" to 9.75". Z-Flex runs the 5" on its cruisers and 8.0" completes and the 6.25" on its wide 9.5" and 9.75" decks. Z-Flex doesn't publish axle widths, so match the hanger size to your deck using the chart above.
What does the 6-hole baseplate mean?
It has holes for both the old-school and new-school mounting patterns. That means the truck bolts onto older decks with the wider pattern and modern decks too. Use four bolts per truck, one in each corner of the pattern your deck has.
Are the 90A cushions soft?
Yes. 90A is on the soft side for skate bushings, so the trucks turn easily and feel surfy, which suits cruising and carving. Heavier riders or anyone skating fast can tighten the kingpin nut or swap to harder bushings.
Do I need risers with Z-Flex trucks?
On a cruiser with soft 60mm or bigger wheels, yes. Z-Flex runs 14mm riser blocks under the trucks on its cruisers to stop wheel bite. With small street wheels, around 52mm to 54mm, you usually won't need them.
Do they come as a pair?
Yes. The truck set is two trucks, enough for one board.

Why Buy from Twelve Board Store
Twelve Board Store has been riders selling to riders since 2013. We are not a generic retail chain — we are a specialist board sports retailer built around genuine product knowledge, real rider experience and the kind of after-sales support that only comes from a team that actually uses the gear they sell.
Every brand we stock, we ride. Every recommendation we make comes from real experience — on the mountain, in the park, on the street, and on the road. When you call us, you talk to someone who has been on a snowboard at Hotham last weekend or a skateboard in the carpark this morning. That is the difference between buying from Twelve and buying from a warehouse with a website.
We offer services that no online-only retailer can match. Our in-store workshop handles snowboard waxing and tuning, boot heat moulding, electric skateboard and e-bike repairs and assembly, and warranty support handled in-house rather than shipped offshore to a call centre. If something goes wrong with your gear, we fix it. If your boots don't fit, we sort it. If you ordered the wrong size, we swap it — no questions asked.
Our showroom at 435A Bridge Road Richmond stocks the full range across snowboards, bindings, boots, skateboards, longboards, electric skateboards, e-bikes, outerwear and accessories. We offer free shipping Australia-wide on orders over $89, AfterPay and Zip for flexible payment, and fast dispatch so your gear arrives when you need it.
