Spitfire Classic Wheels 56mm 99D
The Spitfire shape everyone knows, in a bigger 56mm for park and rough ground.
The Spitfire Classic is the wheel you see under boards at every skatepark: the flame logo, a round-edged shape and a hard 99D duro. This 56mm version is sized for skaters who spend time in bowls and transition, or who want more roll over cracked streets.
It runs Spitfire's standard urethane rather than Formula Four, poured into the Classic shape with its medium-width riding surface and round sidewalls. The result is a dependable everyday wheel that holds speed, grips when you set up and lets go smoothly when you slide.

About Spitfire
Spitfire Wheels started in San Francisco in 1987 and is still based there today, distributed through Deluxe alongside some of the city's best-known skate brands. The flame logo has been on the bottom of street, park and bowl setups ever since.
Today Spitfire is best known for Formula Four, its performance urethane built to resist flat spots, hold its shape and slide smoothly without sticking. It comes in a wide spread of shapes and hardnesses, from soft 80HD cruisers to hard 101D park wheels, so you can match the wheel to how and where you skate. Riders choose Spitfire because the wheels are consistent from set to set and simply last.
FAQs
What are the Spitfire Classic 99D 56mm wheels best for?
Everyday park and transition skating, plus street spots where you want a bit more speed over rough ground. The Classic is Spitfire's most popular shape: a medium-width riding surface with round sidewalls. It's predictable and easy to control, so it works for street, park and transition alike.
What does 99D mean?
Spitfire rates hardness on its own Duro scale, written D or DU, and doesn't publish a conversion. Retailers generally list it on the A scale, so 99D is usually listed as 99A, a hard wheel. It's fast on smooth ground with the right mix of grip and slide for street and park. This is Spitfire's standard urethane; Formula Four is the step up if you want Spitfire's most flat-spot resistant formula.
What size wheel should I get, and do I need risers?
56mm is a bigger wheel for parks, bowls and transition, or for rougher streets where you want more roll. On most standard and mid trucks you can run them without risers; on low trucks or with soft bushings, add a 1/8" riser to avoid wheel bite.
Do they come with bearings?
No. They come as a set of four wheels without bearings. Any standard 608 skate bearing fits, so you'll need a set of eight bearings, and spacers if your bearings don't have them built in.
