Landyachtz Dinghy Classic Wave Skateboard | 28.5"
The compact cruiser Landyachtz built its name on.
The Dinghy Classic is Landyachtz's original compact cruiser and one of the most popular boards in its range, here in the Wave graphic. It's short enough to stash in a backpack or take on the tram, and set up with parts chosen specifically for this shape. It suits anyone who wants a fun, portable board for quick trips around the neighbourhood.
The 28.5" x 8" deck is 7-ply Canadian maple with medium concave, a kicktail and sanded wheel wells for clearance. It runs 105mm Polar Bear trucks with 88a bushings, 63mm 78a Fatty Hawgs and Spaceball bearings. The result is a tight-turning, smooth-rolling little board that carves, slashes and pops up kerbs with ease.

About Landyachtz
Landyachtz was started in 1997 by childhood friends Tom Edstrand and Mike Perreten while they were studying at the University of Victoria in British Columbia, Canada. Their first production run was pressed in a ski racing shed at Blackcomb, near Whistler. The company then moved to North Vancouver, first into a family garage and then into shared space with Invasion Snowboards, and it was there Landyachtz developed its own Bear Trucks and Hawgs Wheels. Tom Edstrand went on to win the IGSA longboarding world championship in 2005.
Today Landyachtz is still skater owned and operated, based in the Strathcona neighbourhood of Vancouver. It designs its decks, trucks and wheels to work together as one complete, from compact Dinghy cruisers and surfskates to dancing boards and downhill freeride decks. Through its One Board One Tree program, Landyachtz plants a tree for every board it sells. If you want a complete where every part was chosen for the deck it's bolted to, Landyachtz is a safe bet.
FAQs
What is the Landyachtz Dinghy Classic best for?
Quick trips and fun cruising around the neighbourhood, campus or city. It's small and light enough to carry everywhere, and the tight-turning Polar Bear trucks and soft Fatty Hawgs make it great for weaving through tight spaces and rolling over rough footpaths.
Is a 28.5" cruiser the right size for me?
It suits most riders who want maximum portability, from kids and teens to adults with average-size feet. At 8" wide it's on the narrow side, so riders with bigger feet or wanting more stability may prefer the 31.5" Dugout or 32" ATV Perfecto.
Is the Dinghy Classic good for beginners?
Yes. It's light, easy to control and the soft wheels are forgiving on rough ground. The short wheelbase makes it turn quickly, so start slow, but most new riders feel at home on it quickly.
Cruiser vs skateboard: what's the difference?
A cruiser like the Dinghy uses soft, grippy wheels that roll smoothly over cracks and rough footpaths, and is set up for comfortable rolling from A to B. A standard skateboard has small, hard wheels and a double-kick deck made for tricks on smooth surfaces. If you mainly want to get around, a cruiser is smoother, quieter and more fun.
Can I commute on the Dinghy Classic?
Yes, for short trips. The 63mm 78a wheels handle most footpaths and it's small enough to carry onto the tram or into class. For longer distances or very rough roads, the Dinghy Classic Fender with 74mm wheels or a longboard will roll further and smoother.
Does it come ready to ride?
Yes. It arrives fully assembled with griptape, trucks, wheels and bearings installed. Just check the truck tightness suits you and go ride.
