Independent Stage 11 Forged Titanium Trucks Silver | 159 (Pair)
The lightest Indy Stage 11, with a solid titanium axle.
The Independent Stage 11 Forged Titanium is the top of the Indy range: the lightest Stage 11. The 159 has a 8.75" axle for decks around 8.6" to 9.0", and it's built for skaters who want less weight on their feet for flip tricks without losing that Indy turn.
It pairs an A356 T6 aluminium hanger with a forged 6061 aluminium baseplate, a solid Ti64 titanium axle and a hollow chromoly kingpin. Independent says it's 15% lighter than the Stage 11 Standard. It sits 53.5mm tall, 1.5mm lower than a standard Stage 11, for a slightly more locked-in feel, and runs super high rebound 90a cushions.
Key Features
- Solid Ti64 titanium axle: saves weight while keeping strength and rebound
- Forged 6061 aluminium baseplate: thinner, lighter and still dense and strong
- Hollow chromoly kingpin: more weight saved where you don't need mass
- 15% lighter than Stage 11 Standard: Independent's own figure
- 53.5mm mid height: 1.5mm lower than standard, clears wheels 54mm and under
- 90a super high rebound cushions: smooth, responsive turn
- Guaranteed for life: Independent's lifetime warranty

What Size Board Does It Fit?
Match the truck's axle width to your deck width, ideally within about 1/4" either side. Too narrow feels twitchy and unstable; too wide and the wheels stick out past the deck and catch your feet. Here is Independent's official size chart for the Stage 11 Forged Titanium.
| Truck size | Axle width | Best board width |
|---|---|---|
| 129 | 7.6" | 7.4"–7.8" |
| 139 | 8.0" | 7.8"–8.2" |
| 144 | 8.25" | 8.2"–8.375" |
| 149 | 8.5" | 8.375"–8.6" |
| 159 | 8.75" | 8.6"–9.0" |
| 169 | 9.125" | 9.0"–9.5" |
Between sizes? Go narrower for a quicker flick and wider for more stability.
About Independent
Independent Truck Company was founded in 1978 by Richard Novak and Jay Shuirman, the pair behind Santa Cruz Skateboards, together with Fausto Vitello and Eric Swenson, whose San Francisco company Ermico Enterprises manufactured the trucks. The first Indys came out that year, and the brand is still based in Santa Cruz, California.
Today Independent is the truck most skaters picture when they think of a skateboard truck. It is known for a stable, predictable turn, a hanger that grinds smooth and a lifetime guarantee under the motto Built to Grind. From the classic Stage 11 to the lower Mid and the featherweight Forged Titanium, there is an Indy for street, park, bowl and old-school shapes, and they all feel familiar the moment you step on.
FAQs
What size board do the Independent Forged Titanium 159 trucks fit?
Boards from about 8.6" to 9.0" wide. The 159 has a 8.75" axle, and you want axle width within about a quarter inch of your deck width.
Are titanium Indys worth it over the Standard?
If weight matters to you, yes. The titanium axle, forged baseplate and hollow kingpin make them 15% lighter than a Stage 11 Standard, so flip tricks feel quicker and your board is easier to pop. The turn and geometry are the same Indy feel, just lighter and a touch lower.
Do I need risers with Forged Titanium Indys?
Not with smaller wheels. Independent recommends wheels 54mm and under at the 53.5mm height. If you run 55mm or bigger, or skate loose trucks, add a 1/8" riser to avoid wheelbite.
Do the Independent Forged Titanium 159 trucks come as a pair?
Yes. You get two trucks, enough to set up one skateboard, with kingpin nuts, axle nuts and bushings fitted. Mounting hardware (bolts) is not included, so grab a set of 7/8" or 1" bolts if you don't have them.
How tight should I set my Forged Titanium Indys?
Start with the kingpin nut just snug enough that the bushings sit firmly in the cups, then adjust a quarter turn at a time. Looser turns sharper but can wobble at speed; tighter feels more stable and gives you more pop off the tail. Never back the nut off so far that it isn't fully on the kingpin thread.
