Globe Sidewalk Slider Cruiser | 28"
1960s sidewalk surfing, reimagined.
The Sidewalk Slider is Globe's era-inspired cruiser, a nod to the 1960s when skaters bolted roller skate trucks onto wooden planks and went sidewalk surfing. Globe imagines where that idea could have gone, and the result is a 28" retro cruiser that's easy to ride. It suits teens and adults who want a fun, stylish board for short trips and laid-back rolling.
The deck is Resin-7 hard rock maple with a mellow concave and die-cut griptape with top art. It sits on 4.25" Tensor alloy trucks and 58mm 85a Retro Flex Cruiser wheels. The 85a wheels are firmer than a typical cruiser wheel, so they roll fast and slide a little on smooth concrete, and a 19.75" wheelbase gives it a steady, easy-going feel for its size.

About Globe
Globe is a Melbourne skate brand through and through. Brothers Peter, Stephen and Matt Hill grew up skating in Melbourne, and in 1985 they started importing skateboards out of Fitzroy, a business that became Hardcore Enterprises. The Globe brand itself was born in 1994, starting with skate shoes. The company listed on the Australian Securities Exchange in 2001, moved into its Port Melbourne headquarters, and launched its own line of skateboards, cruisers and longboards in 2010.
Today Globe is still led by the Hill family, with Matt Hill as CEO, and still based in Port Melbourne. It makes its decks and trucks in its own factory. Its cruisers and longboards are known for epoxy-pressed Resin-7 and Resin-8 maple decks, soft Globe cruiser wheels and bold, art-led graphics, all set up as ready-to-ride completes. From the pocket-sized Blazer to the 40" Geminon Rock, it's a range built for real streets and everyday riders.
FAQs
What is the Globe Sidewalk Slider best for?
Laid-back cruising and short trips on smoother surfaces. Its retro shape and mellow concave make it relaxed to ride, and the 85a wheels roll fast on good concrete. It's a cruiser, not a trick or park board.
Is a 28" cruiser the right size for me?
It suits most teens and adults who want a compact board. The 19.75" wheelbase is long for a 28" deck, so it feels steadier than most boards this size. If you want more width, the 29" Blazer Fuego or 30" Sun City are good options; for a longer ride, try the 36" Blazer XL.
Is the Sidewalk Slider good for beginners?
Yes, on smooth ground. The relatively long wheelbase and mellow concave are stable and comfortable. The firmer 85a wheels can be caught out by pebbles and rough patches, so beginners on rough footpaths may prefer a board with softer 78a wheels.
Cruiser vs skateboard: what's the difference?
A cruiser is made for getting around, with a comfortable shaped deck and bigger, softer wheels than a street skateboard. The Sidewalk Slider's 58mm 85a wheels sit between the two: firmer than most cruiser wheels for speed, but still bigger and softer than the hard wheels on a trick board.
Can I commute on the Sidewalk Slider?
For short commutes on decent surfaces, yes. The 58mm 85a wheels are on the firm side, so they'll feel buzzy on coarse or broken footpaths. If your route is rough, a board with softer, bigger wheels will be more comfortable.
Does it come ready to ride?
Yes. It arrives fully assembled with griptape, trucks, wheels and bearings installed. Just check the truck tightness suits you and go ride.
