Rome 390 Boss AW Snowboard Binding 2027 | Acid

Rome 390 Boss AW Snowboard Binding 2027 | Acid

Surfy Flex. Solid Hold. One Binding for the Whole Mountain.

The 390 Boss is Rome's freestyle workhorse, and for 2027 it moves onto the new AsymWrap platform. You get a mellow, playful flex for presses and grabs, with enough edge hold to carve clean from first chair to last lap.

AsymWrap ties the heelhoop to the baseplate at three points instead of a full wrap. The result is a surfy, board-feel-first ride that still snaps edge to edge, paired with Rome's UltraFlex Pro ankle strap for a tweak-friendly, locked-in hold.

Best for: intermediate to advanced riders who split their days between groomers, side hits and park laps and want a medium flex that's forgiving without going sloppy.

The Tech and What It Does for Your Day

✅ AsymWrap platform: three heelhoop connection points for a surfy, lively feel and more board feel, without losing edge-to-edge response
✅ UltraFlex Pro ankle strap: open-edge design with a 3D auxetic pattern modelled on a spine, so it flexes for tweaks and still holds your boot
✅ ProGrip toe strap: one-piece AuxTech toe strap that wraps the toe box for grip and comfort
✅ Kink ladders: two ankle strap positions. Run it high for a more powerful feel or low for a looser, playful ride
✅ BombProof buckles: one-piece forged aluminium buckles built for grip and durability
✅ Forged aluminium heelhoop: strong, light and responsive
✅ Highback rotation: line the highback up with your heel edge for cleaner power transfer
✅ Adjustable baseplate: centre your boot across a wide range of boot models and sizes
✅ 2° dual-density footbed: subtle cant with the outside of the foot raised for knee alignment and cushioning

Not for you if: you want a stiff, damp binding for high-speed freeride. Look for a stiffer flex rating instead: browse our men's snowboard bindings and use the flex filter.

FAQs

What does AW mean on Rome bindings?
AW is AsymWrap, Rome's new platform where the heelhoop joins the baseplate at three points. It gives a surfier, more lively feel than a full-wrap chassis while keeping strong edge response.

What size Rome 390 Boss AW do I need?
M/L fits US men's 7.5 to 10.5 and L/XL fits 10.5 to 13. If you're on 10.5, your boot's outer footprint decides it. Bring your boots to 435A Bridge Rd Richmond or call 03 9421 2293 and we'll check the fit.

Will the 390 Boss AW fit my board?
Yes. It mounts to 4x4, 2x4 and Channel boards.

Is the Rome 390 Boss good for park?
Yes. The medium flex, UltraFlex Pro ankle strap and low Kink ladder setting make it easy to press and tweak, and it still carves well on the way back to the lift.
