Jones Howler Women's Snowboard | 2027
The Creative Freerider's New Favourite
The Jones Howler Women's Snowboard 2027 is a next-generation directional freeride board designed in collaboration with four-time Freeride World Tour champion Victor De Le Rue and Natural Selection Tour winner Elena Hight. Built for riders who want to charge steep, technical terrain while keeping freestyle creativity at the heart of their riding, the Howler blends big-mountain power with the pop and versatility needed for natural features, side hits, and expressive all-mountain lines.
The defining feature is the High Power Camber profile — a hybrid full camber where the apex of the camber extends past the back inserts, loading the tail with extra pop on takeoff and delivering rock-solid stability on touchdown. Combined with a minimally tapered directional shape, this gives the Howler explosive response on steep groomed lines and serious stomping power for big airs, while the minimal taper keeps the board agile and freestyle-friendly. The 3D Contour Base 2.0 features 4mm of spoon bevel in the nose and graduated tail bevel for smooth turn initiation, and 3D Flip Tips at the nose and tail reduce edge catch and improve float in deep or variable snow — a feature particularly useful when transitioning between conditions mid-run.
The Power Core uses triple-density Bamboo, Paulownia, and Poplar — centred bamboo stringers along the sidecut add torsional stiffness and edge response while Paulownia keeps the weight down. BComp Carbon/Flax Stringers deliver explosive pop with the flax component absorbing chatter in rough snow. Koroyd® honeycomb in the nose reduces swing weight and absorbs vibration for quicker, smoother turns without dulling the board's aggressive personality. Medium Traction Tech edges add grip without the overly aggressive feel of the higher-spec systems — dialled specifically for the Howler's freeride x freestyle character.

Frequently Asked Questions
Where does the Howler sit between the Stratos and the Flagship in the Jones range?
The Howler is designed to sit between the Stratos and the Flagship — more aggressive than the Stratos but more playful and freestyle-oriented than the Flagship. The Stratos is the all-conditions all-mountain board with directional rocker for float and versatility. The Howler steps up to full camber (High Power Camber) for more edge hold and pop, specifically tuned for technical freeride terrain and natural features. The Flagship is Jones' top-end pure freeride board — stiffer, more directional, and built for the most demanding backcountry lines at speed. If the Stratos feels like it's leaving power on the table when you charge, the Howler is the natural progression. If you're riding primarily resort freestyle with freeride aspirations, the Howler is the right level.
Is the Howler Women's the same shape as the men's Howler?
Yes — the Women's Howler is built on the same platform designed with Victor De Le Rue and Elena Hight. Elena Hight is a Natural Selection Tour winner and contributed directly to the shape and flex tuning of the women's version. It's not a scaled-down or specced-down version; it runs the same High Power Camber profile, Power Core, Triax Fiberglass, and BComp Carbon/Flax Stringer construction as the men's model, sized specifically for women's riding.
Is the Howler suitable for Australian resort riding?
Yes, and it's well-suited to the kind of riding that rewards an aggressive board at Australian resorts. The High Power Camber with Medium Traction Tech gives it excellent edge hold on the groomed and firm runs that dominate Buller, Falls Creek, and Thredbo most days. The 3D Flip Tips and 3D Contour Base 2.0 help on variable and chopped-up snow, which is common at Australian resorts mid-afternoon. The Howler is best enjoyed by riders who push hard and want a board that matches that energy — if you're cruising easy blue runs, the Twin Sister or Stratos is the more comfortable everyday board. If you're the rider carving aggressive GS turns and hunting the steeper red runs, the Howler is in its element.
