Jones Stratos Women's Splitboard | 2027
The Energetic, Ride-Anything Splitboard
The Jones Women's Stratos Splitboard 2027 is an all-conditions, all-terrain split built for ripping turns, slashing gullies, and boosting airs in the backcountry. A tapered directional freeride shape matched with an energetic freestyle board feel makes the Women's Stratos incredibly versatile and agile in powder or mixed conditions — ready to carve turns on hardpack, bash through crust with confidence, and float down pow lines with authority.
The camber-dominant Directional Rocker profile delivers more nose rocker than tail, with camber running from the front binding through the tail for powerful edge hold and precision exactly where you need it. The 3D Contour Base 3.0 features 7mm of spoon bevel in both nose and tail starting at the rocker point — tuned specifically for freeride float and fast, fluid turn initiation. In & Out Traction Tech 3.0 treats both the inside and outside edges with three contact points each, providing grip on icy descents and also improving purchase on firm skin tracks — a meaningful advantage over snowboard-only Traction Tech setups.
The Ultra Core Power uses dual-density paulownia with specially positioned poplar stringers for durability and turn power. Power Sustainable Basalt Stringers made from 100% natural fibres improve torsional response and transfer power from underfoot to the tips, eliminating nose and tail chatter in variable backcountry terrain. The EcoPlastic Topsheet is a bio-plastic made from Castor beans — ultralight, chip and scratch resistant, and naturally water-repellent so snow doesn't stick. Karakoram Ultra Clips 2.0 with the Boltless Bridge deliver a tight, torsionally stiff board connection on the descent, while the notched tail is designed to fit the Quick Tension Tail Clip for Jones skins.

Frequently Asked Questions
What's included with the splitboard — do I need to buy bindings and skins separately?
The Jones Women's Stratos Splitboard comes with the Karakoram Ultra Clips 2.0 hardware for connecting the two halves, but splitboard bindings and climbing skins are sold separately. You'll need splitboard-specific bindings (standard snowboard bindings are not compatible) and a set of climbing skins sized to your board. Jones makes pre-cut Nomad and Nomad Pro skins laser-cut to match the Traction Tech edge contours of their splits — these fit directly to the notched tail with the Quick Tension Tail Clip and are ready to use straight from the box. Come in or call us on 03 9421 2293 and we'll put together a complete touring setup for you.
How does the Women's Stratos Split compare to the Women's Solution Split?
The Solution is Jones' best-selling splitboard and the more freeride-oriented option — stiffer, more directional, and designed to charge hard in demanding terrain at speed. The Stratos Split is the more playful, energetic option — still fully capable in the backcountry, but with a more versatile shape and feel that suits riders who want to mix creative terrain, side hits, and all-mountain riding into their touring days. If you're primarily focused on long tours and technical lines at speed, the Solution. If you want a split that still feels lively and playful when you drop into more varied terrain, the Stratos is the better fit.
Is backcountry splitboarding accessible in Australia?
Yes — Australia has genuine backcountry terrain around Kosciuszko National Park, the Snowy Mountains, and above the resort boundaries at Falls Creek and Mount Buller. The Women's Stratos Split is a legitimate tool for Australian touring — the short sidecut and medium taper make it nimble in the tight gully terrain common in Australian alpine zones, and the In & Out Traction Tech 3.0 inner edge treatment is directly useful for the firm, wind-affected skin tracks you'll encounter in the Snowies. If you're new to splitboarding or backcountry travel, come in and talk to our team — we can help with gear setup, skins, and point you toward resources for getting started safely.
