Long two-up seat, sissy-bar attitude and full Series 5 tech, with the power unleashed and no throttle restriction. Built for cruising private property, farm tracks and holiday spots without pedalling and without a speed cut-out.

Off-Road and Private Property Use Only

This is Amp'd Bros' factory off-road model. It does not meet the EN15194 e-bike standard, it is not a road-legal electric bicycle, and it can't be ridden on roads, footpaths, bike paths, shared paths, car parks or anywhere the public has access. Ride it on land you own or land where you have the owner's permission. Amp'd Bros asks every off-road owner to complete its off-road acceptance (you must be 18 or over), and the bike can't be converted into a road-legal model later. If you want to ride on the street, choose the Taipan Road Legal version instead.

Why You'll Love It

Unrestricted: factory off-road output (above the 250W road rating) with no throttle limit.

Retro character, two ways: low-back and high-back seat options both included.

Built for two: long dual seat and a 180 kg max load.

Big battery: 48V 940Wh on premium Samsung 21700 cells, removable for indoor charging.

Pulls hard: Bafang rear hub motor with 80 Nm of torque.

Be seen: 17W LED headlight with daytime running light, plus brake and tail light.

Connected: Ampd Bros GO App with live 4G GPS tracking, digital key, remote lock and alerts, ride stats and parental controls to tame the power for younger family members.

Specifications

Motor: Bafang rear hub, 80 Nm torque, off-road output above 250W

Battery: 48V 19.6Ah (940Wh), Samsung 21700 cells, removable

Throttle: no road restriction (off-road use only)

Drivetrain: Shimano Altus 7-speed, rapid-fire shifter

Suspension: suspension fork

Brakes: 2-piston hydraulic discs, 180 mm rotors

Wheels: 20" fat tyres

Display: 3.5" Ultra colour display

Lights: 17W LED headlight with DRL and low beam, brake and tail light

Seat: modular dual seat with low-back and high-back options included

Frame: Step Over (X)

Seat height: 810 mm

Bike weight: 50 kg

Max load: 180 kg

App: Ampd Bros GO App (4G), parental controls

Use: off-road and private property only, not EN15194 certified

Warranty: 2 years, including the battery

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I ride the off-road Taipan on the street?

No. The off-road model isn't an EN15194 e-bike, so riding it anywhere the public has access can mean fines, seizure of the bike and no insurance cover. It's for private property only. For road and bike path riding, choose the Road Legal version.

Can it be made road legal later?

No. Amp'd Bros builds the road and off-road models differently at the factory, and limiting the speed or power afterwards doesn't make an off-road bike compliant.

Is the Taipan a limited edition?

Yes.
